WATBlog’s video channel WATShow had an excellent run last year with some kick ass interviews, our own Youtube channel (I know not all that big a deal but we be eexccited!), and some good number of views and subscribers on Youtube (Thanks :)). So to keep up with the excitement, and to set up the standards for 2009 we have compiled the most watched WATShows from 2008, the top 10 of 08. Let’s take a nostalgic trip and view them once again.
10. Coming in at No.10 with 672 views is the WATShow with Alok Kejriwal of Games2win.com on why they make naughty games, and other such WATquestions.
9. The 9th and the 8th on the list weret eh women folk of digital media, and it was a pretty close call, with 684 views Dina Mehta’s interview was the 9th most watched WATShow.
8. One viewer made all the difference to Ezeego1’s Neelu Singh, whose WATShow was 8th with 685 views.
7. NDTV Convergence’s Sanjay Trehan did a WATShow over 7 months ago and his interview garnered 724 views to come at 7th on the WATShow list of ‘08.
6. Blink Media a Proto.in nominee at the Delhi edition last year has to be the dark horse of the list, raking in 787 views, guess that shows the power of WOM and innovation in general.
5. The top 5 begins with a WATGame.com video of Alone in the Dark
4. CEO of Kreeda Games, Quentin States-Polet’s WATShow made it to the top 5 with 856 views on the WATBlog channel.
3. The coveted 3rd place went to Manish Agarwal, VP- Marketing of Rediff, whos poke about Rediff iShare and Web 2.0 in general in one of our earliest WATShows’ last year. It also garnered over 1300 views which made Rajiv and the WAT Team very happy.
2. Gaming got big on the WATShow list with Games2win, Kreeda, Alone in The Dark making it to the list, but Zapak took the cake, the cherry and the views with the WATShow with Rohit Sharma, COO of Zapak Entertainment making the cut as the second most watched WATshow with 1405 views.
1. The most watched WATShow of 2008 was one of the first WATshows to be showcased on WATBlog’s Youtube Channel. And it is a pretty unique contender considering the interview was of Harbinder Narula leaving Google to join the mobile firm Aryty. The video garnered nearly 2000 views (1934 to be precise).
Thanks to everyone who watched WATShows and read WATBlog and who we believe continue to add value to the WAT community, what we do is nothing without your participation and support. And we hope to make your visits to our sites more useful this year.

Well it had to happen. We had blogged about Satyam’s Chairman Raju’s resignation letter and how it was one of the worst bit of corporate news for IT in India. Now come the repurcussions of the same with Raju surrendering to the police and being taken in custody for various charges.
The government has finally intervened and suspended the existing board as they too aren’t trustworthy given what has transpired in the last few days. Satyam stock has stopped trading in BSE and also the Nifty and singapore indices.
Also the big impact of this fiasco is on the 50000+ employees that satyam have. Apparently 20,000 resumes have been floating around in the last few days but Infosys and Nasscom both have taken a stand not to hire/poach Satyam’s employees. In a press conference the interim CEO of Satyam stated that they might just have enough money to pay December salaries which means heavy layoff’s is expected unless someone comes and acquires them and saves the day.
All in all satyam is the talk of the country and even at the Headstart event where we are today most startups were discussing the impact of this on the IT Industry. All I can say is whatever the impact it wont be good.
